The Nefertiti lift is a relatively new, highly effective treatment option that can be used to redefine and reshape the lines of the neck and the jaw to provide you with a more youthful appearance. The procedure contours your neckline and tightens the skin in the treatment area without the need for surgery.
The Nefertiti lift utilizes botox injections to reshape the jaw area and lift the neck region. The procedure is named after the Egyptian Queen Nefertiti who was famed for her glorious beauty and her contoured jawline.
How Does the Procedure Work?
In a Nefertiti neck lift, you will receive multiple injections of botox along your lower jawline and down the side of the neck along the platysma. By getting these injections, it is possible to lift the jaw and neck area while restructuring and rebalancing the underlying muscles.
Before the treatment begins, your doctor will decide the exact scope of the targeted area and apply a thin layer of numbing ointment to the treatment area. The numbing agent takes about 20 minutes to take effect, and your treatment will begin after this.
Between each injection, the doctor will place an ice pack on the injection site to provide a numbing effect. This is done to ensure that the procedure remains as tolerable as possible. In order to receive continued benefits, you will need to make return appointments every three to six months based on your unique needs.
Are you a Good Candidate?
The treatment may be relatively low risk, but it is not suitable for everyone. You are not eligible if you are pregnant or a nursing mother, sensitive to botulinum toxins, or if you have been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or myasthenia gravis. In addition, you need to allow any skin infections to heal completely before undergoing the treatment treatment.
You should also be ready to follow any instructions given to you by your surgeon. Your doctor will also advise you to stop consuming alcohol and certain medications at least a week prior to treatment.
What Does the Recovery Period Entail?
You are likely to experience some swelling and bruising in the treatment area and your skin may appear pinkish, but these symptoms will subside within a couple of hours. You should not lie down for at least 4-8 hours after treatment, and you should not lie face down for at least 48 hours.
You will not experience downtime and you can resume your normal activities immediately post-treatment. Minor swelling and bruising will disappear within two weeks.
What Results Can you Expect from the Procedure?
You may notice immediate results after the Nefertiti, but your final results will reveal themselves to you within two weeks. Your jawline will be significantly improved and it will look much tighter and more contoured.
It is crucial to remember that the outcomes are temporary, and you will require return appointments every three months or so to maintain the desired results. This treatment will not completely replicate the results of a facelift, and it is important to be realistic about the outcome.
