Blue Veins Before and After

The photos on this page show the treatment result of leg blue veins, also called reticular veins.

The procedure used by Dr.Dishakjian in all cases was sclerotherapy. For the larger veins two or more sessions were required.

The after-treatment photos were taken at least one month after the last session.

Note that blue veins also appear on areas other than legs. The technique used for their removal depends on the location; for example, laser is the ideal treatment for the blue veins that appear under the eye or on the temples, whereas, sclerotherapy gives excellent results for hand veins. chest blue veins, on the other hand, can be treated either with laser or sclerotherapy.

SCLEROTHERAPY FOR BLUE VEINS | A PATIENT FROM SYLMAR

This is a 31 year old Latina from Sylmar, California, in Los Angeles County, who presented complaining of blue (reticular) and spider veins on the sides and back of both her thighs and legs that started at a young age , but were never treated. She underwent two treatment sessions of liquid sclerotherpy injections 3 weeks apart. The back of the legs were treated only once. The after pictures were taken 6 months later, demonstrating remarkable clearance.

This is a 36 years old Philippina woman, working in the nursing profession, from North Hills California, who presented with visible blue (reticular) veins on her thighs and legs. Her darker skin complexion and larger caliber surface veins predisposed her to skin pigmentation after sclerotherpy. She was treated with 3 sessions of sclerotherpy injections using the mildest possible solution suitable for her skin type. As the after pictures demonstrate, excellent cosmetic results were achieved in 10 weeks.
